Why ROS2 and not ROS1?

In legacy systems, data packets could sometimes be delayed. Thanks to ROS2 and the DDS (Data Distribution Service) layer, "obstacle ahead" data from a robot's sensor is transmitted to the motors as a "stop" command within milliseconds. This is vital for occupational safety. - 2. Decentralized Architecture:
In ROS1, if the "Master Node" crashed, the entire system would stop. In ROS2, there is no central node. Even if the robot's navigation system fails, safety sensors continue to work. This increases the overall resilience of the system. - 3. Cyber Security:
Digitalization of factories brings cyber risks. ROS2 supports industrial-standard encryption and authentication protocols, protecting your robots against external interference.
